Device overview

RealWear Arc 3 is a modern augmented reality smart glasses solution designed for industrial applications and field work in demanding environments. The device enables digital information to be displayed directly within the user’s field of view, allowing workers to access documentation, communicate with teams or remote experts, and capture visual data without using their hands. Arc 3 features a lightweight and ergonomic design compatible with personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This makes the device suitable for use in industries such as manufacturing, energy, logistics, and oil & gas. The platform operates on Ari OS, RealWear’s proprietary operating system based on Android, optimized specifically for voice-driven interaction and hands-free operation.

New Features of RealWear Arc 3

Advanced Dual Camera System

One of the key improvements in the Arc 3 is the introduction of a forward-facing dual camera system. This setup allows the device to capture both a wide view of the surrounding environment and detailed close-up images simultaneously.

This capability significantly enhances remote inspections, documentation of maintenance activities, and collaboration with remote experts. The cameras also enable high-quality video recording and real-time video streaming.

High-Resolution Micro-OLED Display

Arc 3 uses a transparent micro-OLED display with high resolution, ensuring excellent readability of digital content. Information is displayed naturally within the user’s field of vision without obstructing awareness of the surrounding environment.

This allows workers to perform their tasks while simultaneously accessing instructions, technical diagrams, or operational notifications.

Voice Control in Industrial Environments

The device is designed to function effectively in noisy industrial settings. A multi-microphone system with noise reduction enables accurate voice command recognition, even in environments with high background noise.

Voice control allows users to perform various tasks without using their hands, including:

  • launching applications

  • capturing photos and videos

  • accessing documentation

  • initiating video calls with remote experts

Advanced Sensors and Connectivity

RealWear Arc 3 is equipped with multiple sensors and connectivity modules that expand its integration capabilities within enterprise systems. These include:

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity

  • motion and orientation sensors

  • ambient light sensors

  • positioning and location services

These features allow the device to integrate with enterprise platforms, IoT systems, and industrial software solutions.

Applications of RealWear Arc 3

Maintenance and Field Service

One of the most important applications of the device is supporting maintenance and diagnostic work. Technicians can view repair instructions or technical schematics directly in their field of view while keeping both hands free for the task.

If additional support is required, the technician can initiate a live video session with a remote expert who can see exactly what the technician sees and provide real-time guidance.

Manufacturing and Quality Control

In manufacturing environments, RealWear Arc 3 can support workers by displaying assembly instructions, checklists, and quality control procedures. This helps reduce operational errors and improves consistency in production processes.

Logistics and Warehousing

In logistics operations, AR smart glasses can assist with order picking, product identification, and warehouse management tasks. Workers can receive step-by-step guidance for locating items or performing specific operations without relying on handheld devices.

Training and Workforce Support

RealWear Arc 3 can also serve as a valuable training tool. New employees can perform tasks by following real-time visual instructions, while experienced specialists can record procedures and create training materials for teams.
